The main goal of the Julian Cochran Foundation is to support young vocalists and instrumentalists in the individual challenges related to the development of their artistic careers.
Since 2016, we have helped over 300 artists who received scholarships from us, totaling more than 500,000 PLN.
The funds collected from the 1.5% tax will be
fully dedicated to artistic scholarships, providing support for the artistic development of young Polish musicians.

How to donate
of your tax ?
To donate 1.5% of your tax to the Julian Cochran Foundation, you need to:
-
Fill out your annual tax return.
-
In the tax declaration, in the section "Application to donate 1.5% of the due tax to a public benefit organization (OPP)," enter the KRS number 0000599917.
Then, you must submit your tax declaration to the Tax Office by April 30th.
1.5% of tax – what does it mean?
By donating 1.5% of your tax in your PIT tax return, the taxpayer doesn’t lose anything; they are simply redistributing an amount they would have had to pay anyway. However, there is an option: they can either donate it to the State Treasury or to one of the organizations on the list of Public Benefit Organizations.
The procedure is currently exceptionally simple – the taxpayer does not have to make a payment to the account of the chosen organization themselves. They just need to indicate the organization they want to support in their annual tax return by providing its KRS number. The selected foundation will receive the due amount from the 1.5% tax directly from the tax administration.
What have we achieved thanks to your support of 1.5% of the tax for 2022
Thanks to people who supported us with 1.5% of their personal income tax for 2022, we organized over 50 free physiotherapy sessions for musicians. During the "Your Body, Your Instrument" meetings, artists gain practical knowledge on injury prevention and care. The free consultations help maintain health and fitness, enabling artists to continue sharing the beauty of music.
Projekty stypendialne zrealizowane w latach 2016-2024
The “Bridge to the Future” program offered young musicians the opportunity to receive scholarships totaling 30,000 euros to support their artistic development. The entire scholarship was funded by the Globalworth Foundation, the main partner of the program. Recruitment began in October 2021 and generated significant interest, attracting nearly 300 Polish artist-musicians, including violinists, cellists, pianists, vocalists, and saxophonists from over 25 centers in the country and 35 abroad. For fifteen talented young scholarship recipients, the program provides substantial support in their individual challenges related to the development of their musical careers.

The pre-Christmas edition of the Artists Support Fund was created with the help of wonderful friends—patrons. The two editions of the Pre-Christmas Fund attracted over 250 applications and supported 23 young artist-musicians with a one-time scholarship of 1,000 PLN each.
During the spring edition of the Artists Support Fund in 2021 – ZMIEŃ STRUNY NA WIOSNĘ, 10 string players received a material scholarship in the form of a new set of strings from Pirastro. Within 3 days, we received an astonishing 130 applications.
At the beginning of May 2021, we received a package that traveled halfway around the world! What was inside? 360 reeds for clarinet and saxophone from the Argentine family company Gonzales Reeds. We sent the reeds to four corners of Poland to wonderful teachers, who distributed them among the most needy students.
Together with the Borzymy Foundation, which runs the Oddechowo development center near Warsaw, we launched a series of 30 free, weekly relaxation sessions for artist-musicians in November 2020. Over 800 artists participated, connecting with us not only from Poland but from all around the world.
Together with the Danish company Larsen Strings, we organized a call for the “Musical Team” initiative, where close friends and family members could apply on behalf of their musician friend (sister/brother/wife/husband) for sets of strings from the latest Larsen Strings - Aurora series.
The goal of the Fund is to support young pianists in their professional development, including providing scholarships, assistance in participating in masterclasses and artistic residencies, as well as study visits.
